Linda Kaye (Carter) Godfrey

Linda Kaye Carter Godfrey, 65, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014, after 4 years of a courageous battle of cancer; the victory in Jesus is hers. She was born July 29, 1948 in Lancaster County, SC daughter to the late Grady Thomas and Sara Margaret Sneed Carter. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 28, 2014 Waxhaw Baptist Church with burial to follow in church cemetery. Linda was an active member of Waxhaw Baptist Church, where she was a part of the Ruby Scott Sewing Circle. She also ministered through Angels of Hope, where she would knit angels and they would be sent all around the world to help encourage people with hope. She is survived by her loving husband Johnny Mack Godfrey, son Todd Godfrey and wife Sharron, of Monroe, two daughters Michelle Broome and husband Jake, Dawn Ellis and husband Danny all of Waxhaw, two brothers, T.C. Carter of Waxhaw, and Frank Carter of Hemby Bridge, two sisters, Margaret McCain of Waxhaw, and Brenda Price of Monroe, eight grandchildren Kendall, Landon, Ashley, Kit, Bonner, Chase, Lexi, and Mackenzi. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 28, 2014, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112.
