Linda Laney Lewis, 74 years, of Monroe, NC, passed on April 1st, 2019. Linda was born on October 12, 1944 daughter of the late Julian Walter Laney Jr. and Corinne W. Laney. She is also preceded in death by Don E. Lewis (husband).
She graduated from Monroe High School and graduated from Meredith College. She married Don E. Lewis in 1989 and they lived together in Monroe, NC. Linda was a social worker at the Department of Social Services in Monroe, NC until she retired. She was committed to helping those in need.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 5, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe NC, 28112. A Graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Lakeland Memorial Park.
She leaves one biological child and one child by marriage as her legacy. Anna Kendrick Hoeft, husband Stephen Hoeft and their two children (Corinne and Beckett). Donna Lewis Papa, husband Tony Papa and their three children (Kathleen, Phillip, and Patrick). Her children and grandchildren remember her as the bond that kept the family close and for her unconditional love to all of them. She also leaves to cherish her memory two siblings, Larry W. Laney and J.W. Laney III.
Linda enjoyed her family and friends, and cherished special times at the beach.
