Lindsay Louise Harris, 30, ascended to heaven to be with the Lord on Thursday August 19, 2021. She was born February 14, 1991in Mecklenburg County, daughter of Joseph & Denice Davis Harris.
Lindsay was an accomplished musician and adventurer that loved her family deeply and was always on a quest to better understand the world and her place in it. She was an exuberant part of the First Baptist Church of Monroe youth group and was proud of her service in the junior ROTC. She excelled in the Monroe Middle and High School bands as a percussionist, winning the John Philip Sousa award. Lindsay continued to master the language of music at Wingate University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Music Education before going on to play drumline for the Carolina Panthers. Her compassionate path through life included attaining EMS certification and bravely volunteering at the Bakers Fire Department in order to prevent and ease the suffering of others. Animals were always a joy in her life and she loved the outdoors; hiking, camping, kayaking, skydiving, fishing, and big campfires were some of her favorite pastimes.
She is survived and forever cherished by her parents Joe and Denice Harris, sisters Stephanie, Ashton, and Whitney, brother-in-laws Dave, Colin, and James, nieces and nephews Scarlett, Sven, Angus, Murray, and Nicole, church family, fellow public servants, fellow musicians, and many, many friends and family.
Lindsay’s life celebration will be held 6:00 PM, Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Benton Heights Presbyterian Church, 2701 Concord Hwy, Monroe NC 28110. The family will receive friends following the service in the sanctuary.
