Lois Rowland Kyle

Lois Rowland Kyle of Monroe went to be with her savior on Saturday, June 20, 2020. Lois was born in Salem, Oregon on September 7, 1926. She graduated from Oregon State University in 1948 where she met her husband, John E. Kyle. They were married June 8, 1947 and just celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary. Lois and John are the parents of 4 children: Arlette Kyle (Ian) McGrigg of Waxhaw, NC, Jayson (Maureen) Kyle of Franklin, TN, Marcus (Beth) Kyle of Gainesville, GA and Darlene Kyle (David) Navis of Georgetown, Caymen Islands. Along with her 4 children she has been blessed with 10 grandchildren: Jonathan McGrigg, Miriam McGrigg (William) Crespo, Jennifer Kyle Walsh, Amy Kyle (Keith) Case, Jeffrey (Mary Elizabeth) Kyle, Ashley Kyle (Mike) Troxell, Christopher (Tania) Kyle, Andrew Kyle, Kyle (Kirsten) Navis, Nanda Navis (Brian) Freeman and 13 beloved great-grandchildren: Atalee and Gianna Crespo; Riley, Cara and Anna Walsh; Harper, Kaila, Maddie, Lily and Watson Case; John David Kyle; Dixi Troxell; and Vigo Navis. Lois’ deep love for the Lord has carried her through all of life’s journeys and was evident to all who knew her. She served with her husband in Hazard, Kentucky from 1961-1964 at Hull Memorial Presbyterian Church. From there they felt the Lord’s calling to missionary service. They sailed via the USS Illinois to Manila, Philippines in 1965 where they served with Wycliffe Bible Translators until 1972. Upon their return to the United States Lois and John served with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in Madison, Wisconsin and with Mission to the World of the Presbyterian Church in America in Atlanta, Georgia. Lois moved with her husband to Monroe, NC in 2002 and were faithful members of Church of the Redeemer of Monroe. We will miss her unconditional love and prayers for each one of her children and their spouses, her grandchildren and their families. All those who knew her will miss her quiet but deep walk with the Lord. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, June 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Church of the Redeemer, 1001 Redeemer Way, Indian Trail, NC 28110. In light of the current restrictions due to CoVid19 social distancing will be practiced and face masks will be required. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators P. O. Box 628200, Orlando, FL 32862 Interment will be at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC Gordon Funeral Service & Crematory is caring for the Kyle Family.
