Lola Thomas Brady

Lola Thomas Brady, 89, died Friday, April 4, 2008. Mrs. Brady was born in Union County, NC, May 4, 1918 daughter of the late W. Luther and Julia Smith Thomas. She was a graduate of Appalachian State University and received her Masters Degree from Emory University. Mrs. Brady retired as the Assistant Superintendent of the Orange County, Florida schools. She was preceded in death by her husband H. Marshall Brady in 1995, brother Earl Thomas and sisters Mary Baker and Kathleen Haigler. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 6, 2008 at 3:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until 3:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Mrs. Brady is survived by her sister Ruth Morris of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and nieces and nephews, also a special caregiver Alice Hughes. Memorials are requested to Claire Bridge, 918 Fitzgerald St., Monroe, NC 28112.
