Lonnie Carpenter

Lonnie Lamar Carpenter, 80, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021. He is the son of the late Benson Kenneth Carpenter, Sr. and Zora Latham Carpenter. He is also preceded in death by two sons, Marty Carpenter and Brandon Carpenter. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 10:00AM until 10:45AM at Gordon Funeral Service. Burial will take place at Lakeland Memorial Park immediately following the service. Lonnie retired from Teledyne Allvac after many years of service. He loved to farm and was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Monroe. Most of all, Lonnie loved his family and friends. Lonnie is survived by his loving wife, Judy Carpenter of Monroe; his sister, Della Schlappich and husband Larry of Monroe; sisters-in-law, Wanda Henderson, Joan Hunnicutt, Phyllis Broome and Peggy Haney; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Carpenter; brother-in law Don Broome; granddaughters Caylee Carpenter and Carsyn Price and a number of nieces and nephews.
