Mr. Lonnie Theron McGuirt, 82, passed away, Saturday, June 7, 2014. He was born in Lancaster County, SC on December 23, 1931 son of the late Lillie Adelaide Godfrey and Isaac Lester McGuirt, Sr. Mr. McGuirt was a retired employee of Celanese Corp. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mr. McGuirt is survived by sons, William “Bill” Lester McGuirt and wife Dana and Ronald Theron McGuirt, sister, Ollie Mae Allen and husband Robert. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Crenshaw McGuirt, brothers, Arthur William McGuirt, Claude Ezell McGuirt and Isaac Lester McGuirt, Jr., sisters, Maggie Ann Eller, Mary Virginia King, Bertha Idell Cook, Edna Elizabeth Cook and Clara Geneiva Watts. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, June 11, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
