Louis Wilson “Homer” Mical, 77, of Monroe, NC passed away at home on Saturday, October 3, 2026. He was born in Union County, NC on November 9, 1948, son to the late Roscoe and Clara Mical.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Roanoke Baptist Church, 618 Roanoke Church Road, Monroe, NC 28110, with burial to follow in Lucy Helms Cemetery. He will be lying in state in the church from 12:00noon until 12:45pm.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday, October 8, 2026, at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Susie Mical, daughter, Susanne Thom, three grandchildren, Bradley Thom, Kyle Thom, (Diana), Scarlet Thom, and grand pup Coco. He is also survived by a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ann and Don Shown, two special nephews Lynn (Donna) Coble and David Coble, and many more nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his in-laws, Floyd “Pappy” and Mildred Tomberlin, son-in-law, Danny Thom, sisters, Kay Helms, Janette Springs, brothers, Vernon Mical, Donnie Mical, Edward Mical, and Willie Everette Mical.

He was a cherished husband, dad, and devoted member of Roanoke Baptist Church.
