Louise Simpson Funderburk

Louise Simpson Funderburk, age 96 of Monroe, beloved wife of the late Bill Marvin Funderburk, passed away on February 5, 2025. Born in Cabarrus County on October 19, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William Jess and Lou “Pearl” Simpson.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday February 15th at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112 with Pastor Mike Scott to officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe.

Louise is survived by a son, Charles Lee Funderburk and wife Kathy of Marion, SC. and a daughter Sue Funderburk Simpson of Monroe; two grandchildren, Lauren Funderburk Grismer and husband Jeremiah of Monroe and Charles Lee “Chase” Funderburk II of Marion, SC. She is also survived by her twin great grandchildren, Michael William Grismer and Matthew Charles Grismer, both of Monroe. She was predeceased by a husband William Marvin “Bill” Funderburk, a daughter, Carol Marie Funderburk, and two brothers, Bill Simpson and Rayvon Simpson.
