Dateline: Monroe, NC Loumis C. Thomas, 73, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011. He was born in Union County, NC on December 8, 1937 son of the late Claude and Lessie Taylor Thomas. Loumis worked for many years at Charlotte Pipe Foundry and Wiggins Construction Company in Monroe. A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Lakeland Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Thomas of Kannapolis, Wade Thomas of Charlotte and Bobby Thomas of Pageland, SC. He is survived by three sisters, Beuna Yost of Charlotte, NC, Edith Parker of Charleston, SC and Joyce Roszack of Monroe, three brothers, S. J. Thomas and Herbert Thomas both of Kannapolis and Billy Thomas of Waxhaw, also one daughter, Wanda Hainey, two sons, Rodney Thomas and Timothy Thomas. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
