Lowell Dean Durant, 84, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017. He was born on April 18, 1933 in Gouveneur, NY to the late Fredrick and Mildred Wood Durant. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Jewell Durant. Funeral service for Lowell will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Lakeview Baptist Church, 4602 Concord Hwy, Monroe NC 28110. Burial will follow at Wingate City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe NC 28112. Lowell is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Janice Ethlyn Durant, two sons; David Durant (Cindy) of Fairfax, VA, and Daniel Durant (Tamara) of Monroe, NC, three daughters; Dawn Romine (Kevin) of Lynchburg, VA, Donna Rock (Harold) of Acton, MA, and Dianne Beale (Michael) of Morrisville, PA, one brother; Alden Durant (Ilah) of Potsdam, NY, thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
