Lula Mae (Kurtz) Bauman

Monroe, NC Lula Mae Kurtz Bauman, 85, of Monroe, formerly of Ohio, died Thursday, June 19, 2008. She was born in Columbiana, Ohio on September 29, 1922 daughter of the late John and Cora Mae Smith Kurtz. A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, June 22, 2008 at 4:00 PM in Central United Methodist Church Chapel where she was a member and was a former member of Grace Church in Columbiana, Ohio. She was also a member of Salem Square Wheels in Salem, Ohio and led the “Fancy Walkers” group as part of the senior citizens in Columbiana, Ohio. Mrs. Bauman was predeceased by her husband, Norman Bauman, Jr., sister, Ruth Mercer and son, Woodrow “Woody” F. Bauman. She is survived by 2 sons, Lee M. Bauman and wife Carol of Los Gatos, CA, Dale E. Bauman and wife Christinia of Columbus, Ohio, 2 daughters, Barbara E. Pfau and husband Ed of Monroe, NC, Dawna E. Hamrick and husband Jeff of Bostic, NC, 2 brothers, John L. Kurtz of Boardman, Ohio and David Kurtz of MacClenny, FL and was a beloved grandmother to nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.. The family will receive visitors Sunday from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Central United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 801 S. Hayne St., Monroe, NC 28112.
