Lynnie Mae Godfrey

Lynnie Stewart Godfrey, 99, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. She was born on June 29, 1920 to the late Wriston J.C. Stewart and Mary Elizabeth Kizer Stewart. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Martin J. Godfrey, and her son, James Ray Godfrey. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Waxhaw Baptist Church, 8213 Old Waxhaw Monroe Rd, Waxhaw, NC 28173. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Lynnie is survived by her daughter, Christine G. Edwards and husband Max of Wingate, grandchildren, Max Edwards Jr., Marty Edwards (Cheryl), Gina Edwards Ryals (Stan), and Susan Edwards Whittington (Hugh); and eight great-grandchildren.
