Dateline: Monroe, NC M. June Ickes, 77, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006. She was born in Altoona, PA on July 7, 1929 daughter of the late Willis and Mae Smith Chathams. June was a retired bookkeeper for Jay’s Shoes. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 27, 2006 at 2:00 PM in New Hope United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She was preceded in death by her son, Jay Ickes. June is survived by her husband, Paul W. Ickes.
