Macie (Liles) Geddes

Macie Liles Geddes, 88, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014. She was born in Union County, NC on August 1, 1925, daughter of the late James Benjamin and Minnie Medlin Liles. Mrs. Geddes loved Denver Colorado and her many friends, where she lived and worked for Broad Moore Hotel and Denver Dry Goods for 50 plus years. A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, April 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM in Marshville City Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Jack Hildreth. The family will receive friends following the service. Mrs. Geddes was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Geddes, brothers, Wilson, Richard, Fairley and J.B. Liles, sister, Mildred Penegar, and her nephew Hoyle Penegar. She is survived by nephews, Max, Charles and Joel Penegar and nieces, Kay Stegall and Becky Orth. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church or the Humane Society.
