Madge Louise Mullis

Madge Mullis, 83, of Monroe, NC passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on May 4,2021. Madge was born February 6,1938 in Chesterfield, South Carolina, daughter to the late Horace and Tessie Rivers. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Mullis, son Randy Mullis, daughter Cynthia Mullis; sisters, Julia Ray Mullis, Kate Plyler and Jackie Steen. Family will receive friends Friday May 7, 2021 at 11:00AM to 11:45AM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. Funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00PM in Gordon Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Madge worked for Neighborhood Nurses Home Healthcare before retiring. She was a proud mother, grandmother, mimi and sister. Her dedication to her family was evident to everyone she met. She loved spending time with her family more than anything but most important she lived her life for Jesus. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Kathy Pennigar, husband Josef of Monroe, NC; son Bobby Mullis, wife Debbie of Pageland, SC; grandchildren Jesica Demumbreum, husband Josh, Kristofer Pennigar, wife Jenifer, Amanda Mullis, Randall Mullis, wife Mandy and Brett Mullis; great grandchildren Tre’ Covington, Jaiden Covington, Lourell Covington, Aubrey Eubanks, Eddie Miller, Robbie Miller, Macy Mullis, Peyton Pennigar, Liam Pennigar, Julian Demumbreum and Piper Pennigar; siblings Dr. William Rivers, wife Betty, Margaret Davis, husband Doc, Gloria Wallis, Barbara Davidson, Pastor Gerald Rivers, wife Janice, Pastor Robert Rivers, wife Nancy, Lynn Davis and husband Edmund, and brother in law Jarvis Steen.
