Mae Kwiatkowski Toudt, 88, of Wingate, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at her residence. She was born July 12, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Joseph and Sophia Kwiatkowski. Mrs. Toudt held various job positions over the years, working as a bookkeeper in accounting and customer service fields. She was a life long teacher of the Bible and was always active in her community, serving as a leader for Pioneer Girls in Chicago for ten years, state chairwoman for the March of Dimes and Girl Scout leader while living in Mississippi, and Sunday School teacher for twenty five years in Greenville, NC. After moving to Wingate, she became a member at Midway Baptist Church. Mrs. Toudt is survived by her sons, Gordon Toudt, Jr. and wife, Connie, of Wingate, NC and James EJ Toudt of Norfolk, VA; daughter, Diane Toudt Robertson of Wadesboro, NC; two grandchildren, Joseph Toudt and Jason Toudt of Wingate, NC; and brother, Charles C. Kurtz of Milwaukee, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Lee Toudt, Sr., to whom she was married for sixty six years. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, March 14, 2016, at Midway Baptist Church, 4615 Olive Branch Road, Wingate, NC 28174.
