Margaret Quinn Helms

Margaret Quinn Howie Helms, 88, passed away March 13, 2020. She was born December 17, 1931 in Union County, NC daughter to the late Houston Howie & Pauline Deal Hambrouch. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband Roy Helms. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Monday, March 16, 2020 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 5300 Nesbit Road, Waxhaw, NC 28173. Burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00am until 10:45am at the church. She is survived by her son Smitty Helms, (Kim), daughter Quindolyn Jones, (Philip), two brothers; Lester Howie, and Jim Howie, a sister Wanda Bell, three grandchildren; Ashlea Quinn Wright, Garrett Houston Helms, and Hunter James Helms. She worked for years with Monroe Hardware until her and her husband Roy began raising cattle and poultry on the family farm. She is well remembered for her years directing the Bethlehem Methodist Church Children’s Choir. She was a faithful attendee of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Later in life she enjoyed meeting and helping new people as an agent at Central Carolina Real Estate until retirement.
