February 16, 1937 – April 15, 2026
Margaret (“Peggy”) Winkel Anderson, 89, of Indian Trail, NC entered into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. She was born in Westlake, OH on February 16, 1937, daughter to the late Frank C. Winkel and Olive Ash Winkel. She has reunited in heaven with her parents, her husband, Howard F. Anderson, sister, Marian F. Hauch, brother-in-law Albert J. Hauch, sister-in-law Elizabeth M. Winkel, daughter-in-law Jacquie McNamara, and her former husband and father to her children, John R. (“Jack”) McNamara.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Pittsburgh, PA.
Peggy is survived by her brother, David F. Winkel, three sons, Michael McNamara (Michelle), Daniel McNamara, John McNamara (Hana Hudacova), two daughters, Molly Spatara (Jerry), Kerry Price (Chad), six grandchildren, Samuel Spatara, Jackson Price (Taylor), Jessica Price, Erin McNamara, Matthew Price (Verity), Jack Spatara, four great grandchildren, Declan Price, Lochlan Price, Annie Price, and Tilly Price, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and long-time family friend, John Bregan.
Peggy received her BSN from Duquesne University and spent her nursing career at Kane Hospital working with geriatric patients. Later she received her masters degree from La Roche University which she used at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital working with dementia patients. She most enjoyed golfing, walking her dogs, and being a good neighbor to her friends on Roberta Dr. and Barclay Ave. in Pittsburgh, PA, and more recently at Brookdale Memory Care and The Post at Wesley Chapel.
Memorials can be made to your local animal shelter. These services were near and dear to Peggy’s heart.
