Margaret Taylor Tinsie Rice, 94, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016. She was born in Gaston County, NC on April 7, 1922, to the late Charles and Barbara Pruitt Taylor. She is also preceded in death by a son Vann Ray Gilleland. Mrs. Rice is survived by her husband Olen P. Rice, Sr.; three sons, Henderson Gilleland of Cullowhee, James Gilleland of Lincolnton, Olen Rice, Jr. of Monroe; three daughters, Margaret Hinson of Kannapolis, Juliana Yates of Monroe and Gail Newell of Huntersville; and a sister, Janie Richard of Davidson. The family will visit with friends and relatives from 11:00 to 11:45 AM on Monday, October 24, 2016, at Hunter Acres Baptist Church, 4520 Heman Road, Charlotte, NC 28269, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 Noon.
