Margaret Ann Horton Stover, 75, of Monroe, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015, at Pruitt Health-Union Pointe in Monroe. She was born February 7, 1940, in Lancaster, SC, to the late Johnnie Hunter Horton and Margaret Ottie Baker Horton. Mrs. Stover was a graduate of Winthrop College and retired from Kimbrell’s Furniture as Credit Manager. A member of Central United Methodist Church in Monroe, she loved her church, dearly. She was a loyal member of the Faith, Hope, and Charity Women’s Circle at Central. Mrs. Stover found many faithful friends through her church and circle fellowship. Mrs. Stover loved spending time with her family, camping at the beach and in the mountains, and raising the family’s dogs. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Ralph Stover, whom she married August 30, 1959; daughter, Anita Stover Neal and husband, Kevin; son, Kevin Hunter Stover and wife, Jolee Graham; and three grandchildren, James Daniel Neal, David Benjamin Neal, and Ian Hunter Stover. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2015, in the chapel at Central United Methodist Church, at 2:00 PM. The family will visit with friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 801 S. Hayne Street, Monroe, NC 28112. Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory is caring for the Stover family.
