Margie Baucom Carroll

Margie Baucom Carroll, 75, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025. She was born in Union County, NC on March 22, 1950, daughter to the late Winfred Baucom and Loma Chaney Baucom. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Joe Baucom, Earl Baucom, and Junior Baucom, as well as her sister Rachel Preslar.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service with burial to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112.

Margie’s love of Family and Grandchildren was brought out in her scrapbooks, smocking, and cross-stitching work. She often talked about her work family at Charlotte Pipe and Foundry where she spent 25 years. She loved gardening and growing flowers. She loved her church family and worshipping to gospel music. Her last minutes on earth were spent singing Victory in Jesus. She always put her family first, spending quality time making the fondest memories in the most positive ways.

Margie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Johnny Marvin Carroll who devoted his time, energy, and love to her care. She is also survived by her son, Jayme Carroll and wife Samantha; daughter, Gena Carroll; sister, Linda Jordan; and six grandchildren, Meredith Oehler and husband Jaret, Mason Carroll, Mallory Carroll, Kalista Starnes, Paxton Starnes, and Emerel Starnes.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and assistants with Hospice, Heather, Kaye, Lani, Lexine, Mandy, Michael, and all of the other numerous members of Margie’s care team. Also a special thanks to the American Legion Auxiliary at Post 535.
