Marian Sue Nell “Sue” “Suzie” Boyd, 83, of Dayton, OH passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. She was born in Union County, NC on January 13, 1943, daughter to the late Gus William Haigler and Bessie Mae Rushing Haigler. She is also preceded by her late husband Bruce Leonard Boyd, as well as her daughter Teresa Kay Bryant and son Keith Bryant. She is also preceded by her siblings Polly Sutherland, Hilton Haigler, Carl Haigler, Zee Stokes, and Brice Haigler.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 3619 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe, NC 28110. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28110.

She is survived by her son Anthony Bryant, step-son, Brian J. Boyd and step-daughter Brenda M. Boyd, brother, Donald Haigler, sister Pat Polk as well as her beloved blue-crested Amazon parrot, Sammy. She loved birds and animals and regularly fed wild birds, squirrels, and chipmunks in her backyard. She loved gardening vegetables and growing flowers. Her favorite TV shows were old Westerns and Food Network. She was well cared for by her devoted home health aide Chaman and Chaman’s family as well as her nurse Tracy.
