Marion Lynn Byrum, 63, went home to be with his Lord, Saturday, October 9, 2010. He was born in Union County, on April 9, 1947, son of Walter Mason and Lorraine Helms Byrum. Mr. Byrum was a residential builder. He enjoyed the beach, fishing, the mountain house and was an avid Tar Heel fan. He especially enjoyed serving the people of his church and community. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM at High Hill Primitive Baptist Church, where he was a devoted member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Byrum is survived by his wife, Teresa Crook Byrum, parents, Walter and Lorraine Byrum, sons, Keynan Byrum and Jay Byrum, daughter, Erin Byrum Walden and husband Chris of Monroe, brothers, Rick Byrum and wife Debbie, Reggie Byrum and wife Vicki, sister, Jan Byrum Nash and husband Ken all of Indian Trail, mother-in-law, Ruth Caudle Crook, brother-in-law, Mike Crook and wife Terry, grandchildren Garrett and Riley Walden and his dog, Psycho. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Earl Crook. Uncle Marion will be remembered by his nieces and nephews for his good humor and laughter. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service,1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
