Marion Claude Starnes Sr., 80, of Monroe, NC, passed away Friday February 2, 2018. Marion was born April 23, 1937 in Union County N.C. a son of the late Guy and Lillian Starnes. A memorial service will be held 3:00PM Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Prospect United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gayle Ford officiating. The family will receive friend from 2:00PM to 3:00PM Sunday at the church. Mr. Starnes is survived by his wife, Sylvia Starnes, three sons, Claude Starnes, Jr., Randy Starnes, Patrick Starnes all of Monroe, two daughters, Laura Long, Nicole Helms both of Monroe, 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
