Obituary

Martha Carter Allen, 84, went to be with the Lord our Savior on Sunday, November 30, 2025, she was born on October 7. 1941. She was the daughter of the late Glen Ward Carter and Jessie Starnes Carter. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Larry Eugene Allen Sr. in 1987. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Jennie Carter Everson, Jean Carter Hamilton, brothers, Stamey Carter, Joe Carter, a daughter in law, Jean Allen and a grandson, Brian Crutchman.

Services to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00PM on December 7, 2025, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 5300 Nesbit Rd, Waxhaw, NC 28173, where she was a lifelong member, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, Saturday December 6, 2025, at Gordon Funeral Service.

Martha is survived by three sons, Larry “Gene” Allen Jr. of Waxhaw NC, Michael Joe Allen and wife Martha of Myrtle Beach SC, Tony Darrel Allen of Waxhaw NC, two sisters, Geri Kilgore of South Port NC, Glenda Manus and husband Henry of Lancaster SC, 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Starnes (Ben), Morgan Johnson (Patrick), Allie Kohler (Dr. John), Graceson Allen, and 11 great grandchildren, James Jury, Joseph Jury, Michele Starnes, Bryce Johnson, Camryn Johnson, Adelyn Johnson, Miles Johnson, Jack Kohler, Luke Kohler, Reid Kohler, Grant Kohler, several nieces and nephews she loved deeply. Ms. Allen was a retired Union County School teacher.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
