Martha Gaddy Coley

Mrs. Martha Gaddy Coley, 88, of Marshville, NC passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2020. She was a native of Union County, born July 2, 1932 in the Olive Branch Community. She was a daughter to the late Henry Tyler Gaddy and Eunice Simpson Gaddy. She is also preceded in death by her son, Jeff Coley, sisters; Lucille Dean, Lottie Parker, Mae Lee and Rachel Haigler as well as her brothers; H.T. Gaddy Jr., Japp G. Gaddy and Ted Gaddy. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Olive Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet guests following the service. Martha was a dedicated member of Olive Branch Baptist Church. She was employed and retired from Duke Power and enjoyed a second career of twenty-five years at Simpson’s Eggs. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Martha is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Jack Coley and son Tim Coley (Lisa), daughter-in-law Freda Coley, five grandchildren; Liz Eudy (Josh), J. Coley, Madeline Coley, Amelia Helms (Andrew) and Julian Coley, one great-grandchild, Emerson Eudy and sister Nell Gaddy Simpson (Leroy). In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Olive Branch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 8804 Hwy 218, Marshville, NC 28103.
