Martha Walters Collins

Martha Walters Collins, 80, of Monroe, NC passed away Tuesday August 23, 2022 at Autumn Care of Marshville, NC. She was born April 17, 1942 daughter to the late Jim and Vera Broome Walters. She is also preceded in death by the love of her life Roy Wayne Collins, her son Randy Collins, and brother Morris Walters.

Martha was a faithful, long-time member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Along with her husband Wayne, they owned and operated Wayne & Martha’s Grocery and Upholstery. Martha later retired from Monroe Hardware. After retirement, she and Wayne continued to operate the upholstery shop.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday August 26, 2022 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church 2524 Stack Rd. Monroe, NC 28112. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 AM in the church sanctuary.

Martha is survived by her son Ricky Collins (Marilyn), daughter Sandra Helms (Edwin), daughter-in-law Kristi Collins, sister Linda Adams, five grandchildren: Daniel Collins, Dillon Collins, Ryan Collins, Collin Helms, Colbi Helms, and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family ask memorials be made to the Jehovah-Jireh Project C/O Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 2524 Stack Road, Monroe, NC 28112.
