Martha Helms Gordon, age 81, of Waxhaw, passed away Tuesday evening, June 4, 2019, at Atrium Health Hospital in Charlotte. She was born July 12, 1937 in Waxhaw, a daughter of the late William Claud Helms and Eula Phifer Helms. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Weddington United Methodist Church, 13901 Providence Rd, Weddington, NC 28104, with reception to follow. Martha is survived by her husband, Homer Gordon of Waxhaw, two sons; Scott Gordon of Charlotte, and Danny Gordon, (Tammy) of Waxhaw, a brother, Ronnie Helms of Mint Hill, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves many friends who will miss her dearly. Martha was a member of Weddington United Methodist Church and served in the choir for many years.
