Martha Jo Randall Nance

Martha Jo Randall Nance passed away on December 1, 2024 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster in Charlotte, NC at the age of 92.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC. The family will visit with friends and relatives from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service.

Martha was born to Bessie Pearl and James Marvin Randall on June 6, 1932 in Cleveland County, NC. Martha grew up on her family’s farm near Kings Mountain, NC and graduated from Bethware High School in 1950.

Martha married Jerrod Thomas “JT” Nance in 1957 and the couple moved to Monroe, NC in 1960 to establish the home where they would raise their son Randy. They were actively involved in the local community and the First Baptist Church of Monroe. JT and Martha were rarely separated during their 67 years of marriage and the family rejoices in knowing they will spend Christmas together in their Heavenly home.

Martha is survived by her son Randy Nance (Lisa) and her brother Ken Randall (Nell). She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brothers Howard Randall and Dewitt Randall. Martha was the beloved Nanny of Jessica Wood (Garrett) and Jerrod Nance (Ashley). She was also the cherished great-grandmother of Merritt, Jackson, Lawson, and Raylan. Her humor, warmth, and welcoming greeting to “come in and stay awhile” will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Lake Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Indian Trail and Levine and Dickson Hospice House at Southminster in Charlotte for their loving and compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Monroe, 109 W. Morrow Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112.
