Martha Beatrice Hinson Parker, 89, of Matthews, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016. She was born January 14, 1927, in Union County to the late John A. and Eulalia Little Hinson. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, Vann H. Parker. She is survived by her children, John Michael Parker and wife, Barbara, of San Diego, CA, Ronald T. Parker of Matthews, Martha Vann Parker of Southern Pines, and Charles Howard Parker and wife, Shelly, of Lexington, SC; brothers, Steve Hinson and John Paul Hinson, both of Unionville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will visit with relatives and friends Wednesday evening, January 27, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 28, 2016, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Central United Methodist Church, 801 S. Hayne Street, Monroe, NC 28112.
