Martha Geraldine York, 89, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. She is the daughter of the late Howard “HG” and Leola Griffin Morgan of Union County. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Charles Olin York; son-in-law Dale Austin; brothers Wilson Simpson, Bivens Simpson, Donald Morgan; sisters Ruth Sutton, Jane Braswell, Annie Lee Helms; grandson Joseph Allen York; and great granddaughter Elizabeth Anne Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30PM Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Mill Creek Baptist Church 5417 Morgan Mill Rd. Monroe, NC 28110. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00PM until 3:15PM. Burial will take place at 11:00AM Monday, January 16, 2023 at Lakeland Memorial Park 1901 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112. The family will be gathering at the home of Greg and Dawn to greet friends during the week leading up to the service.

She is survived by her daughter Anne Austin; sons Mike York (Sherry), Steve York (Amy), Greg York (Dawn); grandchildren Kelly Wagner (Robbie), Tracy Austin, Shane York (Jessica), Jennifer Batson (Brad), Camden Crider (Richard), Trenton York (Hailey), Chad York (Jessica), Travis York, Kayla Elwood (John); and eight great grandchildren.
