Marvin B. Howey, 90, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016. He was born May 8, 1926 in Union County, NC son of the late Otho Fred Ona Price Howey. He is also preceded in death by a son Randy Howey, a brother Fred Howey, five sisters, Edith Hartis, Mary Howey, Sadie Thornthon, Ann Walden, Helen Lee Howey. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. The family will visit prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM. Burial with military honors will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mr. Howey is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Carolyn Howey, a brother Olin Howey of Charlotte, a sister Nancy Ogburn of Charlotte, a loving daughter-in-law, Cindy Wolfe of Fort Mill, SC, a granddaughter Heather Howey of Concord, a grandson, Dustin Briggs of Fort Mill, SC, a special friend Dan McAteer, as well as, many other special friends.
