Mary Smith Helms, 68, passed away, Saturday, December 21, 2013. She was born in Stanly County, NC on April 14, 1945 daughter of the late Eldridge Vernie Lambert Smith. She is also preceded in death by her husband George Billy Ray Helms. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 1:00 until 1:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM in the Gordon Chapel. Burial will follow in the Wingate City Cemetery. Mrs. Helms is survived by her sons, Mitchell Love of New Salem and Rex Alan Love and wife Kim of Stanfield, daughters, Deborah Horne and husband Brad, Teresa Jordan and husband Jeff, all of Marshville, 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
