Mary Alice Booth

May 25, 1939 — November 9, 2022

Mary Alice Hill Booth, 83 of Monroe, NC passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. She was born in Union County on May 25, 1939 daughter to the late W.T. Hill Jr. and Anne Lee Williams Hill. She was also preceded in death by her brother Dean Hill, son David Booth and grandson Luke Booth.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00PM until 1:45PM at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.

She was a prayer warrior, beloved wife, loving mother, caring grandmother, faithful friend, fought a good fight, finished her course and kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for her a crown of righteousness which the Lord shall give on that day; not only to her, but to all that love his appearing.

Mary Alice had known Jesus all her life, and gave her heart to him as a young girl. She taught her family and everyone she knew about the love of Jesus through her words and actions. She had a servant’s heart and loved taking care of others. She was truly the feet of Jesus.

She diligently studied God’s word, seeking to know him with every fiber of her being. She loved God and enjoyed writing poems praising him.

Mary Alice never met a stranger and welcomed all into her family with love. Most likely, if you knew her, you were on her prayer list that she faithfully prayed over daily. You would never leave her home hungry or without being told about Jesus. She was always up for an adventure and loved traveling. She truly enjoyed being with her family and could often be found playing and treasure hunting with the grandkids.

To honor her memory, she would want you to pray. Pray diligently for your family, church, leaders and each other.

Mary Alice is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years and 11 months 6 days, Andrew Jefferson Booth III, son, Andrew J. “Buddy” Booth IV, daughters, Dr. Sandy Booth George, Becky Booth Baucom (Rick); daughter-in-law, Wendy Morgan Booth, brothers, Grady Hill (Judy), Danny Hill (Heather); sister, Lib Hill Simpson; sister-in-law, Loretta Hill, twelve grandchildren, Emily (Levi), Drew (Abby), Jake, Brittany (Trevor), Morgan (Kevin), Michelle (Jon), Megan (Randall), David (Madison), Rachel, Andy, Levi and Sara; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

The family would like to send Hospice of Union County a special thank you, especially Heather Nance and Latesha Taylor for all their love and care.
