Mary Grant Simpson

Mary Grant Simpson, 75, died June 20, 2013. Mary was born in Union County, NC, April 9, 1938, daughter of the late George Wilson and Mary Stegall Grant. Mary was preceded in death by her first husband Billy Joe Thomas and two sons Robert E. Thomas and Billy Joe Thomas, Jr. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 24, 2013, at 1:00 PM in Bright Spot Baptist Church, burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Mary is survived by her husband Johnny Carson Simpson; sons Gary G. Thomas of Richmond, VA, Ricky L. Thomas of Greenville, SC, and James D. Thomas of Elizabethtown, KY; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
