Cherie Freeman Hill, age 75 of Monroe NC, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. She was born to the late Joseph Loly Freeman and Hilary Coles Freeman on November 5, 1944 in North Western Surrey, London. Services will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Dale Hathaway officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Ms. Hill is survived by her two children, a daughter, Ashley Walker Cates, of Wilmington, NC; a son, Brent Clay Cates and his wife Margaret of Florence, SC and five grandchildren Tyler Kendrick Martin and his fiancé Elizabeth of Wilmington, NC, Brent Clay Cates, Jr. Margaret Daniel Cates, Jean Allen Cates and Julia Marshall Cates, all of Florence, SC; and a sister Geri F. Hacket and her husband Dean of Greenville, SC.
