Mary T. Hinson

Mary T. Hinson SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mary T. Hinson, 85, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 17, 2013 at her residence. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born in Huntersville, NC, February 10, 1928 to the late Cyrus Edgar Taylor and Mary Henrietta Godwin Taylor, she was the widow of Ted Hinson of Monroe, NC. Mrs. Hinson was first married to the late Eugene Milton Helms of Charlotte, NC. Surviving are two daughters, Frances J. Helms and Susan H. Bell, both of Spartanburg; three sons, James M. Helms of Pageland SC, Larry W. Helms of Monroe, NC and Timothy E. Helms of Evinstow, VA. Also surviving are six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sisters, Naomi Taylor Burnette, Eula Taylor Helms and Jessie Taylor and three brothers, Olin Dewitt Taylor, Arthur Eugene Taylor and Robert Taylor. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Gordon's Funeral Home, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
