Mary Lee Moore

Mary Lee Brooks Moore, 98, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022. She was born December 3, 1923 in Jackson, NJ daughter to the late North Lee & Mary Luker Brooks. She worked in Jackson Township tax office, where she retired from her position after 45 years of service and moved to Monroe, NC in 2007. She is also preceded in death by her husband Chester Atwood Moore, a son Chester Moore, and a brother North Brooks.

Mary belonged to Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 4703 in Jackson and was very involved with the Republican Club. She loved animals and had a willingness to help anyone who was in need. She was truly an example of the “greatest generation”. She will be truly missed by all whose lives she touched.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday February 26, 2022 in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe NC 28112.

She is survived by her daughter Rosemary Schoonover (Rick), a son Wayne Moore; eight grandchildren,: Michelle, Melissa, Enden, Christopher, Dawn, Tara, Kenny, and Matt; five great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
