Mary Ann Murphy

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Ann Knight Murphy on October 17, 2024 at the age of 76.

Ann's journey through life was marked by love and devotion, especially to her beloved husband of almost 60 years, Jerry Murphy. Together, they shared a beautiful life raising their two sons, Chris and Josh. Ann will be fondly remembered for her enormous heart, strong will, infectious sense of humor, and her contagious laugh. Her family was her entire world.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April, 11, 2025 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2301 N. Rocky River Road, Monroe, NC 28110.

Professionally, Ann dedicated over 30 years to her career as a paralegal, showcasing her commitment and expertise in the field. She and Jerry were also business owners for many years, side by side running both Murphy's and Long Branch Saloon.

Waiting for her at the Door to Heaven are her loving children Joshua Ryan and Christopher Scott Murphy, her parents Winfred (Wink) and Mary Knight, and her brother Bobby.

Ann is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry C. Murphy, her sister Joan Monroe, daughter-in-law Laura, niece Kim Cunningham, and many other family members who will miss her dearly.
