Mrs. Mary Ella Wheeler Pettigrew, 92, of Charlotte, NC passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. She was born in Hamlet, NC on March 30, 1932, daughter of the late James Wesley Wheeler and Thelma Hyatt Wheeler. She is also preceded by her husband James Donald Pettigrew.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, in Stallings Church, 1115 Stallings Road, Stallings, NC 28104. The family will receive friends 12:30 PM - 1:45 PM prior to the funeral service. Burial will be held Monday, March 3, 2025 at 2:00 PM in Sharon Memorial Park for family and friends.

Mary Ella is survived by her two sons, James D. Pettigrew Jr. (Joyce) and Gregory E. Pettigrew, as well as two grandchildren, Lauren Pettigrew and Jaime Pettigrew.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Stallings Church, 1115 Stallings Road, Stallings, NC 28104 or the donor’s choice.
