Mary Helen Philemon, 83, of Monroe, NC passed away April 6, 2022. Mary was born April 9, 1938 in Union County, daughter of the late Hiram and Zela Hinson Purser, also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Philemon and a brother, Hiram Purser.

Funeral services for Helen will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Friendly Baptist Church, 5418 Friendly Baptist Church Road Indian Trail, NC 28079 with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday evening, April 9, 2022 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112.

Helen is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Daniel (Rodgell) Philemon, two sons, Gary Philemon and his fiancée, Ginger, of Monroe, Daniel Philemon, Jr. and his wife, Pennie of Indian Trail, two brothers, Rodney Purser of Weddington, Joe Neal Purser of Monroe, four grandchildren, Billy Philemon and his wife, Mary, Stephanie Harms, Kaycie Philemon, Brenda Smith and her husband, Andy, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
