Mary Jo Smith, 90, passed away peacefully Friday, July 8, 2022. She was born June 13, 1932 in Union, County, NC daughter to the late John Thomas & Maude Broome Autry. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Smith, Jr., son Phil Smith, brother Tom Autry, and sister Johnnie Casner.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Gordon Funeral Service & Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.

Jo is survived by her son Freddy Smith wife Dale, six grandchildren; Chatham Smith wife Sylvia, Tara Smith, Kayla Efrid, D J Helms, Marsha Asanta, husband Isaac, and Stephanie Kellet, husband Brooks, and 24 great-children, one great great-grandchild, and two great great-grandchildren one the way.
