Mary Lee Elizabeth (Surratt) Tucker

Mary Elizabeth Tucker, 95, of Monroe, NC passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018. She was born in Union County, February 14, 1923 daughter to the late Earl and Loretta Helms Surratt. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband Lloyd Tucker, two sons, Tommy Tucker (infant) and Lloyd “Butch” Tucker, a daughter Alice “Joy” Heath, a brother Earl Surratt and a sister Bobbie Hartis. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 8, 2018 at High Hill Primitive Baptist Church, 2225 Concord Ave., Monroe NC 28110, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with family and friends following the service. Mrs. Tucker is survived by a daughter Brenda Mitchell, a sister Ruth Broome, son-in-law Robert Heath, daughter-in-law Julia Bragg Tucker both of Monroe, five grandchildren, Tim Mitchell and Alan Mitchell both of Monroe, Taft Tucker wife Angie of Mooresville, Matthew Tucker wife Brooke of Monroe, Courtney Baker husband J.B. of Holly Springs, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
