Maxine Galle Sims, 76, passed away peacefully at her home, Monday, July 25th, 2022. She was born in Anaconda, Montana, on September 3, 1945, daughter of the late Clifford Galle and Margie Voorhies Galle. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joseph Sims, and her son, Ron Rodgers.
Maxine graduated from High School in Anaconda, Montana, where she then departed for Parris Island, SC, to serve her country in the United States Marine Corp. It was during her time in the military, that she met her Ex Husband, and father of her two sons, Jerry A. Rodgers, Sr (Deceased). They later moved to San Diego, California where they raised their family, before Maxine moved to the Waxhaw area, where she met the love of her life, Robert Joseph Sims. After serving her country, Maxine proceeded to become the owner of Waxhaw Fish & Food, and the Western Auto. Maxine loved serving her community, but always held a special place in her heart for children. It was her passion for helping others that lead to her having a wonderful and fulfilling career at South Providence as an EC-Teacher Assistant. Maxine was a person who loved life, but more importantly loved her family.
Maxine is survived by her loving son, Jerry A. Rodgers, Jr. and wife, Sherry Sikes Rodgers, as well as her one and only grandson, Justin Tyler Rodgers.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date, with close family and friends.
