Meagan Elizabeth Broome

Meagan (Meg) Elizabeth Broome, 30, walked into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, December 2, 2023. She was born March 4, 1993, in Mecklenburg County, NC, the daughter of Marty Daniel Broome and Susan Restivo Broome.

She was very creative and loved working with her hands. She worked at Wood Designs in Monroe where she enjoyed learning various positions and skills. Meagan has always had a passion for reading and gaining knowledge and started her day reading daily devotionals. She loved playing sports when she was a child from cheerleading to softball, to her favorite, basketball. She had quite a competitive streak. She also took dance. Meagan never turned down the opportunity to be outdoors. She loved the outdoors, going to the beach, boating, fishing, golfing, four-wheeling, lazy days in the pool, Panther games, and even yard work. Walking through the woods and being in nature gave her peace.

In addition to her parents, Meagan is survived by her brother, Steven Broome (Melissa) of Monroe; nephews, Tanner Broome, and Wylder Broome; grandmother, Vera Broome; boyfriend and best friend, Dillon Collins; and numerous cousins and aunts. She will be deeply missed by all.

Meagan is preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank Broome and Nicholas and Alice Restivo.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 1:30 PM in the Chapel at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will have visitation prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM at Gordon Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Community Shelter of Union County, 160 Meadow Street, Monroe, NC 28110.
