Meekie Carter Little, 72, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014. She was born in Union County on July 27, 1942. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Meek and Clyde Starnes Carter; brothers, Marion Carter, Howard Carter, Tipton Carter, Calvin Carter and one sister, Mae Carter Burnette. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 1:00 PM in Antioch Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will visit with friends and relatives Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112 and at 12:00 noon Thursday, prior to the funeral in the church fellowship hall. Mrs. Little is survived by her husband of 40 years, Tom Little; children, Maureen Little (Rick), Marty Trull, Melinda Secrest (Rodney), Monica Trull (Adam Talmadge), Regina Dunn and Eric Little (Shannon); fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
