Melva Messer Davis, 74, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017. She was born September 5, 1942 in Wayne County, IN, daughter to the late Benton and Elva Messer. Melva was a residence of Union County for over 45 years and a member of Wingate United Methodist Church. She was continuously involved with her church and community. A memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends following the service until 4:00 PM. Melva is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Ed Davis, two sons; Jon Davis, wife Jane of Peachland, NC, Chris Davis, wife Christy of Angier, NC, a sister; Maxine Manifold of Hagerstown, IN, two grandchildren; Amber and Ben, and one great grandchild; K.J and to the many people who called her mom as well as her four legged children.
