Michael Sidney Helms, 61, died Sunday, July 29, 2012. He was born in Union County, NC, March 19, 1951 son of Helen Hartis Tomberlin, and the late Sidney Helms. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 1, 2012 in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mr. Helms is survived by two sons, Scott Helms of Statesville, NC and Mark Helms of Waxhaw, his mother Helen Hartis Tomberlin of Monroe, a brother, Jerry Helms of Pawleys Island, SC, a sister, Phyllis Medlin of Monroe, and five grandchildren.
