Michael Dennis Starnes, 72, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025. He was born in Union County, NC on August 17, 1952 son to the late Herman Starnes and Maude Deese Starnes.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Gordon Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112.

Michael was a member of Benton Heights Presbyterian Church for most of his life and he was a part of the Mens Fellowship. He attended Western Carolina University and was a member of the Theta Xi fraternity. He enjoyed the brotherhood and kept in close contact with his brothers throughout his life. He loved his Boykin Spaniels, Hershey, Gretchen and Ruby Sue.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Jane Collins Starnes; and a daughter, Meredith Starnes.
